Other than hoping to get a job in software programming or design, I try to keep myself busy in my free time. I have always loved science fiction books, which really started with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, which I still try to read yearly. I also enjoy fantasy books, such as Lord of the Rings or The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski. I also enjoy playing (and now modifying) video games, enjoying management games or games with a strong story. And when I have a few extra moments, I try to keep an eye on new advances in the world, mainly in respect to science and technology.
My schooling may seem a little convoluted, and that is mainly because I was unsure for a while what I wanted to work as. At the end of high school I knew that I wanted to work in the technology field, but I was not sure of any specifics. I had taken some programming and networking courses in high school, so I decided to pick one of those. I went to the Community College of Beaver County for networking, but after leaving I realized that an Associates would not be enough. I was also not sure how much I would enjoy working in the networking field. So, after half a year of halfheartedly looking for work in technology, I ended up working in the Real Estate Insurance industry. I was able to sustain myself there, but I decided that I should go back to school to follow my ambitions. I had always felt that I had the right mindset to be a programmer, so when I signed up for the University of Phoenix, I took a programming focused program.
